In March 2006, the first filmmaking workshop took place in Toronto.
14 Native youth from Grades 5-8 wrote, acted, directed and produced
five Public Service Announcements over the course of five days. The
PSA's encourage the viewer to "BE THE ONE" generation to stop smoking,
listen to the voices of the youth, to stop cruelty to animals, and
to encourage cultural activity.
Professional mentors Lorne Cardinal, Cheri Maracle, Sidd Bob, Richard
Storey, Herbie Barnes and Tamara Podemski helped the children to
prepare and execute their personal messages for a brighter future.
